Biographie
Jessica Chastain (geboren am 24. März 1977) ist eine amerikanische Theater-, Film- und Fernsehschauspielerin. Sie spielte Gastrollen in mehreren Fernsehsendungen, bevor sie ihr Spielfilmdebüt mit dem Independent-Film Jolene 2008 gab.
Im Jahr 2011 erlangte Chastain breite öffentliche Anerkennung für ihre Hauptrollen in sieben Filmveröffentlichungen; für ihre Leistung in The Help erhielt sie Nominierungen für die beste Nebendarstellerin bei der Verleihung des Academy Award, Golden Globe, BAFTA und Screen Actors Guild Award. Im Jahr 2012 wurde sie vom Time Magazine als eine der "100 einflussreichsten Menschen der Welt" ausgezeichnet. Chastain's Auftritt im Militärthriller Zero Dark Thirty 2012 und im Horrorfilm Mama 2013 veranlasste den Filmkritiker Richard Roeper, sie als "eine der besten Schauspielerinnen ihrer Generation" zu bezeichnen. Für erstere gewann sie den Golden Globe Award als beste Schauspielerin (Drama) und erhielt eine Nominierung für den Academy Award als beste Schauspielerin.
