Michael Abbott Jr. wurde in Morristown im US-Bundesstaat Tennessee geboren. Er studierte Schauspiel an der North Carolina School of the Arts und trat anschließend in New York sowie an Regionaltheatern auf. Sein Spielfilmdebüt gab er 2007 in Jeff Nichols’ Shotgun Stories, in dem er Cleaman Hayes spielte. Zu seinen späteren Filmrollen gehören Agent Frank Smith in Killers of the Flower Moon, David in The Bikeriders und Charlie in The Last Stop in Yuma County. In The Dark and the Wicked verkörperte er Michael, in The Death of Dick Long Zeke Olsen. 2026 spielte er Blake in Das Drama - Noch mal auf Anfang und Sheriff Wilson in Verity - Dunkle Geheimnisse.
